FEED TROUGH STARTERS!
Remember, individual tastes will vary. This guide is designed to inspire you, and you can always make changes at your discretion. We'd love to hear how you've enjoyed our products and any creative changes you've made so we can share them with fellow home cooks and YUM PIG customers everywhere.
These recipes are designed for slow cooker meals but can easily be adapted for an Instant Pot or prepared on the stovetop in a skillet.
For slow cooker preparation:
- LOW: Cook for 5 to 6 hours
- HIGH: Cook for 3 to 4 hours
FEED TROUGH STARTER GUIDE FOR HONEY CHIPOTLE
Cherry Chipotle Pulled Pork
Grocery List: 2½ to 4 lbs pork butt (shoulder), pork roast, chicken, or beef, 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling, 1 lemon, 1 to 2 tablespoons cornstarch, 3 cups water
In a bowl, combine the cherry pie filling, the juice of one lemon, cornstarch, and 1 package of Feed Trough Starter HONEY CHIPOTLE. Stir until well blended.
Pour the mixture into your slow cooker and place the pork (or your preferred meat) on top. Add 3 cups of water.
Cook on your desired setting:
- LOW: 6 to 8 hours
- HIGH: 4 to 5 hours
When the meat is fork tender, shred it with two forks and stir it into the sauce.
Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or on sandwich buns.

Brownie Honey Chipotle Cookies
Grocery List:
- 1 (18 oz) box brownie mix
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- ½ package Feed Trough Starter HONEY CHIPOTLE (approximately 1 ounce)
Preheat the oven to 325°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine the brownie mix, flour, eggs, vegetable oil, and ½ package of Feed Trough Starter HONEY CHIPOTLE. Mix until well combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips, if using.
Using your favorite cookie scoop, portion the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
Bake for approximately 9 minutes.
Allow the cookies to cool on the parchment paper for several minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Store in an airtight container.

Vegetarian Option Included
Traditional Grocery List:
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 lb pork sausage
- 1 (12 oz) bottle of beer
- 1 (25.4 oz) bottle Farmgirl Favorites Bloody Mary Mixer
- 1 package Feed Trough Starter HONEY CHIPOTLE
Vegetarian Grocery List:
- 1 (15 oz) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (15 oz) can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup tri-color quinoa
- 1 (12 oz) bottle of beer

1 (25.4 oz) bottle Farmgirl Favorites Bloody Mary Mixer
- 1 package Feed Trough Starter HONEY CHIPOTLE
Brown the ground beef and sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Drain well.
Transfer the meat (or vegetarian ingredients) to your slow cooker. Add the beer, Bloody Mary Mix, and 1 package of Feed Trough Starter HONEY CHIPOTLE. Stir well to combine.
Cook on your desired setting:
- LOW: 5 to 6 hours
- HIGH: 3 to 4 hours
Serve with crackers or tortilla chips and top with shredded cheese, jalapeños, salsa, sour cream, or your favorite chili toppings.

Pozole
Grocery List: 3 to 4 lbs boneless chicken thighs or pork butt, 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, 1 (30 oz) can white hominy (drained and rinsed), 3 to 4 cups chicken broth or water, 1 package Feed Trough Starter HONEY CHIPOTLE
For Garnish:
- Shredded cabbage
- Sliced radishes
- Lime wedges
- Sliced avocado
Place the chicken or pork into your slow cooker.
Add the chicken broth or water, diced tomatoes, hominy, and 1 package of Feed Trough Starter HONEY CHIPOTLE.
Cook on your desired setting until the meat is fork tender.
Remove the meat, shred it with two forks, and return it to the slow cooker.
Serve in large bowls and let everyone garnish with shredded cabbage, radishes, avocado, and a squeeze of fresh lime.
