OG Coffee Cake Cookies

Ingredients

Cookies

  • ⅔ cup salted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2⅓ cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons Feed Trough Starter™ OG
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

Icing

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons milk

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 2 to 3 large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and yogurt. Mix until combined.
  4. Add the flour, Feed Trough Starter™ OG, baking powder, and baking soda. Mix until a soft dough forms. If the dough seems dry, add additional yogurt, 1 tablespoon at a time, until it comes together.
  5. Using a small cookie scoop (about 1 tablespoon), portion the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing cookies about 2 inches apart.
  6. Gently flatten each cookie with your fingertips.
  7. Bake for 11 to 13 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set.
  8. Let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for 2 to 3 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Icing

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Add more milk, a teaspoon at a time, until the icing reaches a consistency that's easy to pipe or drizzle.
  2. Transfer the icing to a piping bag or a resealable plastic bag with a small corner snipped off.
  3. Pipe a zigzag pattern over each cooled cookie and finish with a light sprinkle of Feed Trough Starter™ OG.

Makes: Approximately 30 cookies
